	Architectural Solutions is an Architectural firm whose principals have more than 50 combined years experience in school design, mostly with rural school districts. We have a unique perspective on smaller schools and low building budgets, both typical of Charter schools. Charter schools don't have access to the same funding that regular public schools have for building construction so economies in construction are a necessity. Our experience in this type and size of facility is one of our assets. Building codes or standards do not change for a charter school nor does functionality such as wide corridors for ease of student movement & locker placement. All construction meets current building codes and A.D.A. requirements. Building maintenance is taken into consideration. Again, Charters do not have the luxury of large budgets for maintenance. Building materials are selected for no or low maintenance, durability, and/or ease of repair. Our schools of any size include a fire sprinkler system for protection of the students and staff. Smoke detection & fire alarm systems are provided as required by code. Energy efficient lighting & energy efficient HVAC systems are a must. Experience has shown us that a single unit furnace/AC for each classroom or cluster of smaller rooms provides better comfort. This also allows a single room to be brought to comfortable levelswithout turning on a "central" system.
